About Amy Lawrence

I graduated from Birmingham City University (former UCE) in 2008 with a BA Hons degree in Constructed Textile Design.

After graduating, I worked at a top Nottingham swatching agency for 3 1/2 years before working as a freelance swatch designer and starting my own label, Amy Lawrence Designs.

I design and knit interesting accessories including textile jewellery, taking inspiration from my interests in links between science and nature, traditional craft techniques and mathematical processes.

Ideas need to be translated into visuals which help turn an idea into a product. Visualising a concept means you’ll need some or all of these: sketches, illustrations, technical drawings, mood boards, line sheets …etc
Raw materials is everything and anything used to make your product. These can include fabric, leather, trims, hardware and others. Usually these are either sourced by the designer or by the factory, depending on the process stage.
