Who can create an profile?

Designers, manufacturers or suppliers working within the fashion industry are welcome to register and create an online profile, which will automatically list them onto our database and become part of our online directory.

How do I create a profile?

You will first need to register as a user to, click on the confirmation email sent to your email address and then log in. Once you are logged in, at the top right hand corner of the main page you will notice your user name will show. Click on it and from the drop down menu select EDIT PROFILE - follow the easy steps to create your online profile.

"Utelier Approved" is a sign of recognition that we award utelier members who have been checked and approved by our team or who have a accrued a high number of positive feedback/reviews left by satisfied clients.


What email address should I use?

Please use a professional email that you regularly use and check.

I can't find my account confirmation email from

The confirmation email will arrive instantly. If it is not in your inbox, please check your junk folder. If it is not in your junk folder - please check your junk settings - is it set to delete junk instantly when it arrives? If you are using an email service such as Mail or Entourage, please check the inbox and junk folder of the domain provider's email account - again, please check these junk settings - is it set to delete spam instantly as it arrives?

Can I update my profile after uploading it?

Yes, you can update your profile as often as you feel necessary.

Can I keep my profile private until I am happy with it?

Yes - when you begin to create your profile, on every page you complete you have the option to save your information or changes made. Once saved the information you have input will be saved and not display until you are happy with the created profile and ready to click the "PUBLISH" button.

How can I promote my profile?

Once you are logged in and on your profile page, copy the URL link to your profile page. Paste the link to your profile to your own website or blog, Facebook page, Twitter page or add to your printed promotion such as business cards, flyers etc.

What are "tags" at the end of my profile and how do I make use of them?

Tag(s) is a keyword or term assigned to a piece of information (such as an Internet bookmark, digital image, or computer file) for the purpose of identification and allows it to be found again by browsing or searching.

To help users find your profile when they are searching for particular information, it is best if you list words that best describe what you do, the industry sector you are in, the kind of products you design/manufacture, your location…etc

What do you mean by: We have the right to use, copy, distribute and disclose to third parties any such content for any purpose?

Again, this is a standard legal disclaimer. We do not intend to misuse your information and pass it on to third parties, but in the event of a legal reason, we may be forced to disclose certain information to a third party; in which case this is a form of a disclaimer aimed to exonerate our actions. But this statement by does not imply that we will sell anyone’s information for marketing or any such purposes.


How many images can I upload?

You can upload as many images as you like, however we advise that you upload a main image or logo that represents you or your business, one to three images or video in the Gallery section which best showcases your business and at least three images of product or work that best show what your speciality is.

I can't get my images to upload?

Check you are uploading jpg files. The system will NOT upload PDF or TIFF files. Check your images meet the required size specifications, listed in every image requiring section and ideally resize to fit the required size and format.

My images look blurry?

You may have uploaded too small a file. Check your images meet the specified size and format requirements.

Do I retain copyright of my images by uploading them to

Yes - all imagery remains your copyright. Please read our Terms of Use for all copyright information.

How do I upload a video?

You can only upload videos in the Gallery section of your profile. Log in and go to EDIT PROFILE from the top dropdown, go to the Images/Video tab in your profile and fill in the title and description of the video you would like to upload, then add cut and paste the URL of the Vimeo or You Tube video of your choice.

What do you mean by: Any content that you upload to our website will be considered non-confidential and non-proprietary?

This is a legal disclaimer to protect us against a third party copying your images from your profile page. No matter how hard we try, there is no way to stop a third party from copying an image of a product or design and reproducing it, or using it in a manner not intended for that image. Therefore, we are obliged to state that we cannot be held responsible for any misuse of any visual material uploaded, though we continually work hard to prevent this from happening. We advise our designers and platform members to take precautions and register original designs with a design protection body like ACID, or to watermark their images as a preventative measure.


What is Concierge?

Concierge service is a consultancy and production service we offer to our members. If you have a question or problem related to a business matter, design or manufacture of your product, you can contact us and we will try to help you or point you in the right direction. We can advise you or undertake a project on your behalf and oversee the development and production of your products. No matter how big or small your query or problem may be, we are here to help you.

Does using the Concierge service cost?

The first 30min consultation meeting over the phone or in person is free. Thereafter there is a small hourly charge for meetings held in person, or a project fee where a project is agreed between team and the client.

I need some help and advise - how do I contact someone in the Concierge?

Just fill in the contact form via the platform and tell us what you need help or advise on. We will respond to you within 24 hours of receipt of your email by email or phone initially.


Is it free to browse the UTELIER.COM member profiles?

Yes - it is completely free to browse our member database. Use the search engine to refine your search by all permutations of materials, product, skill, industry sector.

I have my own brand / product line - can I list it on the platform to get exposure for it?

You cannot list your brand on the platform yet, but if you contact us and told us about it, we may be able to feature you in our U Magazine.
